Student Reflections
Just as staff reflect critically upon their classroom practice in order to improve performance, so students must be encouraged to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of teaching and learning strategies. It is vital to their success in life-long learning and in the world of work that they begin to recognise their strengths and weaknesses. Then, they can start to adapt and develop into stronger and more confident learners.

The EnCompass system has been specifically designed to engage the student in his or her learning. As the student completes the Learning Styles Questionnaire, reads through his or her profile and completes the Student Guide, there are many opportunities for reflection. The EnCompass system promotes responsibility and independence. The clear, attractive visuals of the profile encourage all students to consider their learning strategically and many students find the Task Frames useful to plot revision techniques against their preferred learning styles.

In order to protect the Intellectual Property and copyright of AST and our publishers, we are currently unable to publish explicit examples of the full EnCompass system on this website.
